NGN’s how to... value Pokémon cards.

I couldn't resist writing a new how-to so here is a guide on how to value Pokémon cards!:

There are a few key factors to look out for when valuing/selling Pokémon cards. And these factors are:

1)      The card number: at the bottom right of the card is the card number. It is important to know this number because of the difference between Promo and Prime cards. Promo cards are cards that were sold with a tin. So they would be at the top of the tin when you buy it. Prime cards are much rarer and are worth more! But more on that soon.
2)      Is the card shiny? If it is then it would naturally be worth more than non-shiny cards.
3)      Look at the condition of the card. The better the condition the more value that card holds.
4)      What character is the card? Sometimes, more popular cards sell for more. So for example Pikachu is a very popular Pokémon. So a Pikachu card would be worth more than an Unown (as an example).
5)      Identify if the card is a Promo or Prime card. Now not all cards are Promo or Prime. So for example there is such thing as a shiny Typhlosion Promo and a shiny Typhlosion Prime. Prime being the rarer of the two. So how would you identify if the card is Promo or Prime? Well look at the picture! The one on the right is a Promo and the one on the left is a Prime. So if a card has a star at the bottom right saying “Promo” then it’s a (guess what) Promo card. If the card has its game’s symbol(s) then it’s a Prime (in this case the Typhlosion is a Heartgold/Soulsilver card so it has the HG/SS symbol) and is rarer than the Promo.
6)      Is it a Movie Card? Because Movie cards are EXTREMLY rare especially first Movie cards! So if you have a card that says: “The first Pokémon Movie!” on it then it’s rare! VERY rare!

So now you know the basics. There is just one more step and then we’re done:

Value the cards: the best way to do this is ebay. Type in the name of the Pokémon card, whether it’s a Prime, Promo or Movie Card, and its card number. So I want to value Typhlosion Prime. So I type in: Typhlosion Prime #110. Then I see how much Typhlosion is going for. So the average value of Typhlosion Prime is about 4-5 pounds! You can do this with any card! Hope this has helped!
